6 months today, and yesterday I had a severe professional unexpected blow….I am still riddled with anxiety and ruminating and fearful about it but interesting it never occurred to me last night to have a drink…but I am hating the anxiety…leaning in to the feeling… trying to Analyze my own thoughts and fears…sit with it….I guess I have learned something along the way….
Even though the anxiety is probably very overwhelming, it sounds like you have really learned some healthy things along the way. So amazing that reaching for booze didn’t occur to you! That’s a BIG deal! Your brain is now working for you again.
Sometimes, life just throws junk at you. Know that being sober will help you navigate properly through unexpected blows such as this. Try to breathe, ease up on analyzing & worrying about the future. Being present is tough but it really does help. We are here to be your cheerleaders! You’ve done such a great job! Keep going! You got this.
Easy does it. Best not to over analyze things. Just think things over and move on. It’ll all work it’s way out staying sober. Guaranteed. Congratulations on those hard earned months. You a miracle for sure.
Your in the right place. If your in the program, sounds like 3rd step time. Followed by the 4th and 5th. Hang in there.
