61 days off drugs and 46 days without alcohol. Feeling a lot better....finding myself getting bored a lot. My cravings rarely occur now but I miss the excitement. My life is better and my health has improved, not sure about my mental health yet. Feeling down. 🥲
Try doing some new things. Novelty will help spike your dopamine levels. Find a meeting if you’re down with AA and volunteer for something. It’s good to keep active in early sobriety. Keep up the good work and it will get easier. 24 hours.
Congratulations. Happy sad is very common in the beginning. I never know how I am going to feel when I wake up. Exercise helps a lot. Be patient and be easy on yourself. Our bodies and minds are going through a lot of changes. I just decided that I need to start therapy because stuff from years ago still bothers me. All the stuff I never dealt with is creeping up on me now that I don’t have any substances in me. I tried to drink the pain away.
I know the feeling well … it’s a roller coaster ride for a bit ! I’m right there with ya with 41 days sober … forcing myself to accomplish at least one thing everyday . That makes me feel better so I usually end up doing more but not always!!! Some days I don’t get out of bed … we got this tho!!!!
Annie, stick with it!
Life on life’s terms. Always gonna have the ups and downs. Hope you can find somewhere to hang around others in recovery and do some fellowshipping. Lots going on in recovery programs to take that boredom away. Just keep sobriety in the forefront and good times will again come your way.
Just be strong and don’t lose focus you will have routine soon and get used of the better sober life style
The boredom is the hardest part for me which comes and goes. My addiction was cocaine so I loved social atmospheres and now it's the exact opposite. Rather be sober though so let's figure it out and fund alternatives that make us happy. One day at a time.
I get bored too. Trying to meet new people.
Well I don’t think being bored is a good thing in the beginning. I know for me it wasn’t. I filled my days with meetings and journaling. Creating a support system. I have to do anything and everything to stay sober. There’s a lot going on in the sober life. Pickup a new hobby. Think about all we missed enjoying because we were to high. It doesn’t hurt to remember how bad it was in our addiction. You have this beautiful journey of sobriety to look forward to. Go out and live get to know yourself and the world through clear eyes and mind. Good luck
