7 days are no problem . It’s when I hit

7 days are no problem . It’s when I hit that first month -3 months where that little voice starts telling me that I don’t have a problem . That I just needed to get on top of it , that I can drink like a normal person . The alcohol poisoning isn’t far behind that . Tests at the hospital , depression , the self loathing and disappointment of my family all follow . Then I promise to stay sober and start the merry go round again . I want off the ride ! How do I make this this program work for me ? Someone who it seems is addicted to backsliding?

Yup. Sounds like you just might be an addict. It’s not the booze or substances that’s the issue. It’s why you using the booze and substances. Good start this time. Letting others know. Now you gotta admit to yourself in your soul it’s a problem and start doing the work. Get tools to deal. Fix the problem that makes you use those substances. Get plugged in. Welcome and hope this time you get past that 3 month mark.

Thank you , I’m truly terrified . Only because I have tried I’ve meditated, read step books had a sponsor and gone to meetings all before . I fail once I get to this point in sobriety every time .

Sorry typing on my phone

Thank you for your encouragement. It means a lot to know I’m not in an echo chamber .

I do the same thing. I’ll get like a month under my belt and be like “I overreacted. I’m fine. At least I never -insert low point point-“.
And then I’ll drink normally. And a then little more cuz why not?
And then I should grab a shot on the way home- just one- because work was hard.
Next thing I know I’m justifying and getting hungover and “realizing” I might have a problem. It’s the worlds shittiest merry-go-round lol.
BUT!! The thing that gives me hope is that each time you get sober you start to rewrite your brain. So those days aren’t lost, you just have to keep sober and keep rewriting those tracks in your brain.
You got this!! :metal:t3: Message me if you ever want to chat

Thank you !

That’s not a bad idea there. It helped me getting away from the world and showed the tools to a new life.
