fui quod es, eris quod sum

“I once was what you are, you will be what I am”

An epitaph that reminds the reader of the inevitability of death, as if to state: "Once I was alive like you are, and you will be dead as I am now.

::::::::::::::::::::::: O ::::::::::::::::::::::::

Quite possibly my favourite phrase in Latin.

Similar to “Memento mori”.

Remember death or remember you will die.

During the height of my addiction, I wasn’t afraid to die.

I was afraid to live.

My life progressed deeper into the abyss of alcohol and substance abuse, in vain attempt to numb the pain, plaguing tortured mind.

Distilled spirits taunting me, night after night after night.

Crystal shards, newfound best friends, day after day after day.

The party never ends.
The shame begins again.

::::::::::::::::::::::: O ::::::::::::::::::::::::

I pray that I may think God's thoughts after Him.

I pray that I may live as He wants me to live. :pray:t4:

::::::::::::::::::::::: O ::::::::::::::::::::::::

"The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but reveal to them their own." - Benjamin Disraeli
