81 days!

81 days.. I'm feeling great :relaxed: I've never made it past 90 days, but I have high hopes this time around! I'm not struggling with alcohol cravings.. I'm struggling because I thought letting go of alcohol would help my relationship. Don't get me wrong, it has helped.. but I'm starting to realize he may never realize he has a problem, and while he has slowed down, I'm realizing our priorities are different, and I feel like I'm growing away from him instead of with him. Not a great feeling :woman_facepalming: but I hope everyone is having a beautiful day so far !

That’s usually the case sadly. Once sober you begin to know the real you and see others in a different light. Just keep being this new you and life will constantly keep rewarding you. Congrats on this new life you’ve chosen.

Hi Courtney, it took a health issue to make my partner finally agree to get sober with me. For others, it’s an ultimatum. Your sobriety is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING so stay focused on that. My partner and I have over 4 months of sobriety and it’s amazing.

Absolutely! Hoping he can eventually see the light and change his ways, but I have to worry about myself right now :blush::+1:

Thanksss LC :heart::heart::heart:

Yes ma'am! Hope your partner has their health issue under control now :heart: I can only be there for him and hope for the best. But I will remain selfish when it comes to my sobriety :blush: I don't want to go back to my old ways, not even an option at this point!

Congrats on the 81 days. Like K. Bradford mentioned, it's sad. However, our old selves must die before our new selves can come forth. Sadly that old self consists of old relationships. Whether those relationships be with the same people or new people. The old relationships must die before the new relationships can come forth.

Yes sir! It's just about figuring out how to properly handle the situation when it's someone you have been with since the age of 16, now with two children :relieved: that's the sticky part about it lol just trying to stick to my newly set boundaries, and remain calm on my journey, I don't want to make any major moves right now.. I am finally in a place where I am saving money, and I'm happy with myself !

Indeed I do! Thank you :blush:

Thanks Simon!! I won't let anyone get in the way of my happiness, I've come toooo far for that :hugs:

Congratulations that’s awesome you’re a miracle

81 days is really good!!

When you get sober everything changes. Your head and heart start to get clear. Our relationships have to grow and change as we grow and change.
It’s tough but worth it

Yeah my partner said ‘ I didn’t commit to watch you drink yourself to death.’ So I quit drinking.
