881 days. Happy more days than not. I enjoy my job. Going to bed sober. Life can be good again.
That's impressive, congratulations
Michael
Woohoo brother! What are you doing to help you get to this point? Working a program? AA, NA, life ring, smart Recovey or recovery Dharma? Or just utilizing tools you’ve learned? If you have time please share as there would be a few of us that are new and can’t see that far ahead..
Thank you
and higher power blesses you. Attitude of gratitude
Keep up the good work!
I go to a mix of AA DAA and IDAA. No one fellowship is superior in my mind. Learning to be honest and learning to ask for help was a bug game changer early on. I also and chat with friends about recovery life. I strive to live the steps. Meditation is important to me but I’m not a dharma guy. I have friends that love it. I went to inpatient treatment in 2019. Some AA groups are not for me. I find I can outgrow some groups but I go to 3 meetings a week. I have vivid memories of enjoying being high which can at times be more vivid than the misery of withdrawal. Currently I work steps to be a better me rather than not drinking today. I still get sad angry frustrated I recognize these feelings and it’s up to me how I choose to behave. I haven’t reinvented them wheel. Early on I got a sponsor and did what I was told. I first got sober in 2013. Doing it my way didn’t work long term. My recovery is ODAAT… don’t lie and ask for help.
