Seems that a lot of folk I use to send morning positive greets too have dropped off the radar since my tumble June 3rd. My main gig on this site isn’t to post in the feed this and that for encouragement to others. Prefer the personal touch of one on one. Think we all need that “how ya doing” on a daily basis. Sadly, a lot of folk are no longer with us. They say that just 1 in 10 of us get this new life when first coming around. It’s been a rough last few years we all have had to endure. Meetings missing, Fellowshipping is hard to find. And folk just not able to figure out how to live a new sober life. Been in recovery off and on most all my adult life. And I get it. It’s dang hard. Just wish that 1 in 10 would be wrong. Sobriety is a good life. The best. Never give in to giving it your best shot. It’s an up and down life. Yet, in the end, your soul will love you for trying your best.
Being of service to others and doing 12th step work can be hard because not everyone is ready to commit to a new way of life. It reminds me that I didn't want to commit to sobriety either. Staying drunk was the easier, softer way.
I am fortunate, I have a 100% success rate when it comes to 12th step work.
I didn't drink.
I can only help the person who wants my help. I will take 1 in 10 because that is still better than 0 for 10.
Agreed.

We have a treatment center that comes to my Monday night meeting. Usually around 20 people. I can always tell who’s gonna make it and who’s not. I always put my money on the ones that come in with their head down in guilt, shame, and remorse. For the ones who sit there on their phones, we’ll keep a hair open for them when they are ready.
I had to go back out for 7 more years of pain after my first attempt at sobriety.
We’re a stubborn bunch for sure. Glad you helping to keep that flame alive.
I'm grateful for you K. Bradford. I love your daily messages, and am grateful how much you check on my daughter. You're a long-distance relative I haven't had the pleasure to meet yet.
Oh shucks! Talk about being mushy. You’ve got a real treasure there missy. Great family in the making.
I understand. Your messages really help me and I look forward to that connection.
So good that you reach out to people. Sometimes it makes all the difference in the world.
I've been at it for a long time too and it is hard. Luckily miracles happen.
Back in the day it was 1 in 35 .that as changed .a good thing.
