A fool is a person who thinks they can do

A fool is a person who thinks they can do it all on their own without any help from others. That is what I am. Someone who has always done everything on his own and never asked for help. I don't want to be that person anymore and want the help that anyone has to offer. The advise of those who have been in my shoes and wisdom from them to know how to get through the day clean. I don't want to just become sober I want to actually change my life completely. I want to do the work and steps that allow me to stay clean permanently. I'm asking for help and advise from anyone who is willing to offer it.

You know where I stand. I’m just proud of you for saying your truth. Staying honest/open and never feeling like what you said was” stupid” or feeling shame for it is SO FREEING. No one here can judge you for sh** cuz we all have our own problems and if they judge… they got some dam* nerve! We all learn and can relate in MOST ways… Never apologize for being you and ALWAYS BE YOU, because the Tommy I know is crazy/beautiful. Your amazing and you’ll just get even better! Hang in there… You got this. :pray:t3:

Hi Tommy, you’re taking that first step out into the open with humility. There are lots of people on here to learn from, keep posting, I see your posts sparking important conversations. Try everything at least once, and stick to what works. Keep your sobriety first, and release the shame associated with your past actions. You got this!

You’re getting it figured out my friend. I fooled myself into believing I was a high functioning drunk for a long time, but life taught me otherwise. Then I fooled myself into believing that I could fix the problem by myself since I created it by myself. But that’s a horribly lonely challenge. So I faced reality and started going to meetings. The love and acceptance make the difference. Connection is part of the cure. I firmly believe that there is something to learn from everyone and it’s only through communication that you receive those insights and blessings. Take action and get out there.

You strong and captivating warrior queen, thank you. It was your bravery and unbelievable will power that compelled me to make this beautiful life changing decision. Not to mention, the look on my daughters face when I was under the influence. I never want to see that disappointment ever again in her face. She always knew something was up. That every time I came out of my room I wasn't her daddy but a struggling man who needed a crutch in life. I'm tired of taking from her and putting drugs first. She deserves so much better and her real dadda who is full of life. Not some fake a** b**** who needs quick fix to make it through the event or day. She sees the change already..I see the change. Thank you for your encouragement and for being so tough on me. You are not alone on this walk. Now own the day woman, we f-ing got this. Warriors don't know failure.
