A friend in our club .. is suffering today over the anniversary of the death of her father … I did not know what to say if anything…. I fell remorse for not being a better friend

We must learn to deal with the other end of Life… Death! In our Recovery. We will always miss them, so how about we honour them by dedicating our Recovery to them, and celebrating their life in some way. Don’t beat yourself up. Its not easy to know what to say. Just be kind n gently present. It gets easier as we grow in Recovery. Blessings, Sky:star2:

Sometimes saying nothing and just being present is enough

You are there, present. You aren't walking away. You feel empathy and compassion. That's a good friend! You can always offer a hug, offer to listen, a shoulder to cry, or as Tina says, just offer your presence in silence. That's often exactly what we need.
