A week ago I made the best decision of my life. To get clean completely from all substances. Something I never thought was possible. I've always piggy backed from one substance to another. I started taking pills and drugs at a young age. When I stopped drugs I drank. When I stopped drinking I picked up pot and so on. The cycle never ended and I was only kidding myself thinking I was staying clean. A good friend pointed out I was only lying to myself and has encouraged me to kick them all to the curb and never look back. I did that and I'm so proud of myself today because of it. Tomorrow will be a full week of sobriety and that's something I never knew from the age of 8. One would think I would say,"I can't believe it" but again that's another lie. Because I always knew I had the strength to do this and once I started believing in myself I know anything is possible. Can't wait to go to bed clean another night.

Cathy I am far from a miracle, inspiration, or someone to even look up to. Who I am is a person who just got tired of being tired and making excuses for myself. I just now believe in myself and know I can do this with the help of others and their support. Stay strong and make today count. Don't worry about yesterdays mistakes or tomorrows troubles. Just know right now is the moment you should be living for and even if you are high or drunk it's ok because you still can change that in the next few seconds. Just believe in yourself and know you are worth it. Don't forget to love yourself first too and hug yourself once in awhile.
