A year ago I made a life changing decision

A year ago I made a life changing decision. I decided I was done done with alcohol. Done with hangovers, done with feeling cloudy headed, done with wasting money, done with the stigma. Since then I married my best friend, achieved my AAS degree in psychology, began my bachelors degree, landed an incredible job in the field of psychiatry, found myself and fell in love with myself. I knocked a few things off my bucket list I never thought I would ever achieve, with more bucket list items getting checked off this year! (Paris, here we come!) I recognized how certain things in my life were holding me back and I had the power to shed those chains and become the man I’ve always wanted to be. I’ve never been happier, felt more successful or that my friends truly love me for who I am. In fact, I haven’t felt more myself than I do right now. And it is due in part to those who have supported me through thick and thin, love you all. Everyone’s journey is different and mine has gotten me right where I want to be. Can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Cheers to the family you’re born with, cheers to the family you meet along the way. Cheers to love found and those lost. Cheers to choosing every day to strive to be the best version of yourself. Cheers to 365 days of finding myself!
