AA Topic

I'm chairing my home group meeting tomorrow and I was wondering if any of you had a unique topic that is different from the same old stuff.

Gratitude and Acceptance are always go to's. January is Step 1 month. I've found I can always do a good riff off of powerlessness..... don't rehearse or prep, something good usually finds it's way out?

Yeah. We seem to cover the same old stuff. Just looking for something interesting

Pretty much SOP for most meetings. If you're chair it's your meeting. Do whatever you'd like🤷🏼‍♂️

You could ask "what is your favorite recovery quote, or a quote that has helped people the most through your journey and why". Probably half will say one day at a time, but there will be some different answers, things maybe no one has ever heard. Leads to some good thinking.

Ask what it’s like living in the 4th dimension and how meditation has helped there sobriety

Following through. On resolutions, on getting sober, on staying sober, on promises, etc.

You can always discuss a specific step.

Well, some of the newcomers may really need to hear step 1 or even some of the old timers need to be reminded of step 1. It’s a lifelong process and if you’re anything like me, my mind begins to wonder so it’s always good to have a constant reminder

The 10th step promises.

The 9th step promises get all the attention but for me, it was step 10. When those simple shifts became apparent in my life I knew there was no going back.

We ended up doing the Daily Reflection. Focused on Step 1 and divine Providence. It was a great one.

Often when the same topics come around, they are at different place in our recovery journey and they are fresh and promote new insights. That’s a little bit of my experience strength and hope.
