AA touts total abstinence from weed but a lot of people smoke cannabis and just dont say anything. Do you think abstaining from weed is vital to recovery?

The only requirement in AA is a desire to quit drinking. They are not drug specific.
I attended NA because there are no loopholes. The desire to quit using encompasses all drugs, including alcohol.
It's a personal choice at the end of the day, however for this addict I require complete abstinence from all mood or mind altering chemicals.

For me the marijuana maintenance program didn’t work. I kept relapsing on booze & coke.
I am glad and grateful to be free from ALL mind altering substances.
Plus weed made me stupid🤪
