About 46 days sober. Ended up having a day free and ventured to an art event and ran into some friends. The sun was shining and the music was good, typically I would sit back with my buddy and enjoy a beer but I asked myself “what really is the point and do you actually want this?” No. It was the habit and belief I did. So I passed and enjoyed a watermelon agua fresca and I came home to create some art. I’ll admit I felt that familiar restlessness I’d have that would lead me to drink but I powered through it and didn’t allow it to win. It eventually subsided and I was able to finish creating, collaborate great ideas and enjoy the rest of my day with clarity and hope. I’m proud of myself and just d*mn happy.
