Today has been what I like to call #MoneyDay, the day on which I chase that
, look for ways to spend less
, and save more
. Here’s a list of the ways I celebrated #MoneyDay:
⁃ I put out another installment of Family History, A Beautiful Mess, this morning for my paid subscribers (cuz if I want them to keep paying, then I gotta keep writing);
⁃ I managed to get student discounts from my internet provider and Amazon Prime;
⁃ I applied for a bunch of grants (federal grants, grants from nonprofits that give money to those of us who are “women of a certain age” and going back to school);
⁃ I packed up yet another bag of the clothes that are too big for #thredup, the online thrift store, and whatever commissions I make from that will pay for my fall/back to school wardrobe, which will also come from #thredup); and,
⁃ I hand washed my laundry in the sink and convinced my landlady to let me hang it on the line outside (not only did I save money but my clothes smell amazing).
I’m not afraid of “money problems” because there’s a solution for every problem.
