My boss and friend was on vacation and I was holding the fort down while he was away. I was doing some maintenance at our shop. I was by myself and I knew there were beers in the fridge. It really sucks to have to keep my mind straight and have the battle in my brain to not have just 1. It's just 1, nobody will know, I can get away with it, right? I let the scenario of having just 1 or 2 pass through my head. Then I realized, if I get away with it once then I know for sure that I'll try it again and again and then I will be back to square 1 and that's the last thing I want. Be accountable to myself first and foremost is something that is new for me. I'm glad I don't have the shame and personal turmoil for taking that first sip. This disease is cunning and its doing push-ups waiting for me to think I got it under control. 24 hours at a time is the only way I can keep going

I dunno, Chris...sounds to me like the workouts you have been doing are helping you beat down the demon doing push-ups.
Keep doing the work. You can and will get stronger.
Way to think that delicious, enticing, relaxing, refreshing “one“ beer all the way thru. Way to call BS on your disease trying to fool you into that “who will know”…”just 1 beer”. We know the reality of it.
