Actually having money in the bank to spend

I’m almost there man. But it’s crazy to think not only did we spend a ton on the addiction part but the after math of spending while being on alcohol! Like food, and unnecessary things we don’t need. I’m sorta fresh in my sobriety but use to spend at least minimum $25 a day on a fifth. 6 days a week $150 a week spent on just booze we can round it to about $250 a week on booze and unnecessary food etc bought while drunk. $1000 a month gone. Minimum… $12,000 a year gone flushed down the drain. That’s a either Ira full at max contribution and an additional $6k saved in the bank! It hurts to look at it this way but that pain only fuels my desire to stay sober!

Such a great feeling of accomplishment

I know exactly what you mean! I was a bar guy so every day after work it was straight to the bar. $10 shots chased with $5 beers, multiple each by like 6 more or less, then pick up a bottle or a case on the way home to keep it going. It’s so nice to not just be throwing away my money anymore. I’d bring my bank account into the negative like every month, knowing I was just digging a deeper and deeper hole. Grateful today!

I’m always open to helping to spend it with you. If you need some advice, feel free. Hi ho J/K. Feel proud of this new life before you.

Just think of the possibilities that you will have with financial freedom! That amount per month is a car payment, a retirement fund, an awesome vacation! Good job man!
