Im a gardener by profession so I have winters off. When it was the work season it was a little easier to stay sober since I was on a routine, working with my hands, and spending a lot of time outdoors.
But now I only work part time and it is hard resisting temptation with all this time on my hands.
Any advice on how to stay sober when unemployed with an excess of time and lack of schedule?
Meetings can be a really good hobby. I’m not even kidding. I did this when I had a gap between rehab and getting back to work for a couple of weeks (it was winter lol). If you find a sobriety club, there are meetings almost all day long. It’s a healthy hobby and can be more fun than you think.

Hi Ginger! Set up a routine to follow. Wake up at the same time each day, have a morning routine that gets you into real clothes, do something for your recovery regularly, get outside!, and when you unwind at night do a similar night routine. I had do something similar when I started work from home because I felt my whole routine was gone and I was all out of sorts.
Find a hobby you enjoy, and find a sober group for that hobby. If there isn't one create it.
I read and go to meetings and keep in near constant contact with sober people via life, phone, text and this app.

The clubs that I go to have a coffee bar. You can just hang out there like a “regular” bar. People just start bull$hitting about sobriety stuff or other things. It’s cool.
I will be the odd 1 out. A gardening radio call-in talk show/podcast. I'm in Jersey and there isn't one here. I think the man that had one retired yrs ago. I don't know enough to even attempt 1.
