Do you still attend parties? Like birthdays of relatives. Where you know there is drinking. I did, and i felt okay however i had a dream about drinking last night.
Bad dreams letchu kno yu still alive. Keep pushin
Yes I attend parties etc., where people are drinking. I’m totally fine. But not as interested in these events as before. I get bored with the shallow conversations. “So what do you do”?
I’m more interested in deeper conversations that have to do with spirituality.
Even after 16 years of sobriety I still have drinking dreams once in awhile. Always grateful to wake up sober.
Good thing you were dreaming,I used to have a few over the years of smoking dope behind everyone's back more like a nightmare. In the most stressful times they can come up. If it does I ask God to take these dreams and do whatever as I know that is the old me. Step 2 3 and 6 I find helpful. I have not had a drinking dream is 5 years or so. But never the less when I will ask God for help this day and in spite of myself usually have a good day) Fredrick
Once it becomes all about drinking/partying, I say my goodbyes. I do my best to stay for the “main event”, but I leave once it’s over and it becomes just people hanging out and partying and telling the same old stories over and over again. I take care of myself first today.
@freedom286740 Yes, I do however only for work related reasons. As for family functions I make "political appearances. I show up for the important people, work the crowd then graciously leave through the door I came in through.
I attend and stay. It absolutely does not bother me. I will say that those who are drinking are not showing out. They tend to slow troll wine, but I was worried the first year of sobriety that I would have issues. Thankfully, I did not and still don't.
I attend it doesn't bother me I usually leave early i would suggest to have a game plan to leave early or someone to call if it becomes to mucj
