I told my children's father that I needed him to support me, because I don't want to drink anymore.. he said he would help me, so I asked him to stay in instead of going out to drink.. he literally said "it's Sunday, I'm not going anywhere, I'll stay home with you!" But as soon as I'm not paying attention.. he leaves
then stumbles in at 2am, I even had to direct him to the bathroom because he was on the way to the kitchen to pee
this is an every other day occurrence with him. He is an alcoholic.. just hasn't said it out loud, I don't think he ever will, his pride is far too high to admit it
tomorrow when he wakes up, he's going to act like nothing ever happened.. probably offer to take me out to eat (because deep down, he feels guilty) I know him all to well.. I just wish he would open up & let me help him, let us help each other
I will admit, seeing him like that makes me happy to be sober
Side note: I'm aware that I am not in control of his addiction, I have a habit of trying to be in control of everything, I haven't even gotten control of my own.
