After drinking every night for 15 years I quit cold turkey 7 days ago. So far it's been a cakewalk compared to giving up smoking 2 packs a day. I havn't let anyone inside my circle and now I maybe talk to 3 or 4 people a day because I have to for work. I've been social distancing most my life so nobody even noticed that I recently stopped drinking. I never found any answers at the bottom of the can and after awhile after I fixed most my probIems and stress I found out that I just really enjoyed being buzzed and getting drunk so I continued killing my liver. I had Chilli yesterday and didn't get heartburn, infact I haven't got heartburn all week...When I asked why I can't remember my childhood my oldest sister reluctantly me about our abusive father. You see I didn't speak until I was 4. She said she used to sleep under my crib because if I cried he would beat me until I stopped crying, so she would pat my back till I stopped crying. Going to bed hungry was normal growing up and not eating for 1,2,3 days was a monthly occurrence. At 16 I got a job, left and rented an apartment for 185.00 a month. 36 years later I'm still trying to figure out my life but alcohol probably wasn't my best strategy.
