After many slips white knuckling it, I decided to turn to AA. The support is awesome, just made it to the first 30 days. Did anyone else experience using AA was better than other methods?

I white knuckled through alcohol and benzo withdraws, probably not the smartest but I wanted to do it myself and never feel like I needed anyone or anything. I did for six months with no relapse but I was miserable, a dry drunk. After 2 years of the AA fellowship things are much better. I attend for the fellowship, not their recovery program. I could quit alone but I needed help leaning how to live normally again… still working on that part.
