After work party

We had a planned lil celebration after work at work with beverages. Boss was kind enough to make some virgins. I'm only 28 days sober. The last time this happened at a work/community function I ended up drinking after being sober 17 days. I don't know what's so different this time to where I was able to say no. I keep thinking how Easter will be 30 days! Almost like a goal...how far I've come and how good I will feel about myself! Then I wonder if that's even a good way to think? My attitude should be here and now this day where it belongs...does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Good job! I am always thinking about my next milestone. Whatever motivates you to stay sober is a good thing.

Appreciate that! My sober attitude is polar opposite of my drunk one! Lol...best for me to stay sober! No intentions of anything that's not in my true best interests today! Happy early Easter to you and yours as well

I think milestones are great motivation! Nothing wrong with not wanting to give up the time that you’ve accumulated, it’s a good way to fight those moments you want to cave. Nice work! :tulip:

Being sober is so refreshing. Who needs to feel like crud with a hangover?! Enjoy the ride. And each day and moment. Keep up the great work!

I brought this up at a meeting tonight. While the coming anniversary gave me strength to stay sober also it is one day at a time...31 days isn't more or less than 30. Day 1 isn't more or less than day 366...it's all just this one day today

Oddly enough I've thought that! I didn't realize it until I flipped my calander over to April...it makes it that much more significant on a personal level in some way
