I think addiction can't be solved in a significant sense until some underlying issues are addressed. Therapy and growth as a person are important to recovery, which is what the steps are about- a series of actions that address old wounds and bad ways of thinking.
Agreed.
I would say itâs a what came first, the chicken or the egg scenario. Who of us hasnât drank because they had problems, and who of us havenât had problems because they drank?
The root cause of most addictions is our mind being overloaded with troubled memories and events hidden secrets immoral thoughts a empty spiritual hole that we try to fill with the feel goods that don't feel so good inventory and release of the inventory is imperative just my thought
Agree
AGREED!!! Itâs a symptom/temporary solution of the underlying problems! There can also be more than one addiction⌠My primary addiction is Codependency due to TraumaâŚmy Alcoholism is secondary. Both and all need to be addressed by working on the underlying issues! My parents were not abusive thank God and there was lots of love flowing and needs being met. However, my brother was sick from a young age and I took on the role of not waiting to add any more stress to him or my parents so I kept whatever bothered me inside and always faked being strong and making sure everyone was okay.. Boy oh boy did this transfer into my adult life and whack me right upside the head and try to buuuurrrry me!
I tried to address it multiple times when I started to realize it but I was in toooo deep and not prioritizing myself so I stopped life and gave working on myself for once ALL of my time by going to treatment.. Now that I am out I am continuing to to work on myself and find balance by taking baaabbbyy steps. I didnât get into the hole I was in overnight and there is no way I was getting out of it over night so this is going to be a LONG process but the rewards are so great.. I am beyond grateful for my life today, including my âaddictionsâ bc I know there is no way in h*ll Iâd be as HAPPY, STRONG and as GOOD of a person had it not been for my struggles. I pray everyone can get to the point to feel their worth and happiness in this world

Relapse is in mind that's the problem
