Alcohol Use Disorder

If someone drinks 1 drink every day is that normal or an AUD? To me the only people without an AUD are those who 1) don't drink every day and 2) don't drink a lot when they do. People who drink 1 drink every day annoy me. And strangely none of them every mention my sobriety. Thoughts?

IMHO AUD is softer way to say alcoholic to help move it away from the stigma.
In AA no one tells you that you're an alcoholic. We let you come to your owe conclusion😉

Hmm, 1 drink a day? Why? I can see why it's annoying, why would you have just one? Lol

I don't have a drinking problem, I have a stopping problem.

I'd be jealous of these 1 drink per day people if 1 drink per day had any benefit.

7 drinks a week.. not substance use disorder, unless it's 7 drinks in one night.

Reality check, I could care less how many, how often anyone else drinks. I'm only concerned with how much I drink.

Also, 1 bottle of wine is not 1 drink.

It's interesting to get everyone's perspectives! Also that Canada recently came out w new safe guidelines making 2 or less drunks a week the safe zone for women (as an example).

*drinks not drunks lol

AUD has various degrees and stages of it. It is a clinical term and by no means a new one.
There are several criteria to be met for a diagnosis (nearly all of them described me at some time), but having 1 drink on any day, even if it's every day, is definitely not in the diagnostic criteria for a disorder.
