Trying to quit drinking

One day at a time is said a lot in recovery, but in early days, sometimes it’s easier to take things in even smaller increments- one hour at a time, one minute at a time. You’re doing the right thing seeking support from others. If you are interested in the 12 step approach, AA has online meetings via zoom/phone call or in person (you can find them in your area via the meeting guide app). To go to those meetings, you don’t need to identify as an alcoholic, only as a person with a desire to stop drinking.

Welcome james

Realize that alcohol has no benefit for you, or anyone else. All the reasons we would drink are lies or placebo, coming from years of brainwashing. You can happily be free when you realize there is no tug of war and you no longer have the desire to drink. Alan Carr's quit drinking without willpower book helped me with this immensely.

One day at a time!! You are stronger than you realize!
