Yep, we went there lol and ended with step 7 prayer.
Today we will be having a Meditation out of As Bill See’s It on pg
48. Its all on the “emotional hangover” in sobriety.
“When a drunk has a terrific hangover because he drank heavily
yesterday, he can not live well today. But there is another kind of
hangover which we all experience whether we are drinking or not.
That is the emotional hangover, the direct result of yesterday’s
and sometimes today’s excesses of negative emotion – anger,
fear, jealousy, and the like.” Bill Wilson,
AS BILL SEES IT, pg 48
Which in turn allows
THE joy of living is the theme of A.A.'s Twelfth Step, and action is
its key word. Here we turn outward toward our fellow alcoholics
who are still in distress. Here we experience the kind of giving that
asks no rewards.
Here we begin to practice all Twelve Steps of the program in our daily lives so that we and those about us may
find emotional sobriety. When the Twelfth Step is seen in its full
implication, it is really talking about the kind of love that has no
price tag on it.
12/12 Step 12 pg 106
As you meditate, think on how you can stay sober in emotions this
Thanksgiving. What have been your tactics before?
If this doesn’t jive with ya, speak on whatever you’d like on your
recovery journey in AA.
Bill defined emotional sobriety as a “real maturity” and
“balance” in our relationship with ourselves, our fellows, and
our Higher Power.
