All my friends are heavy drinkers. Including my partner of 7 years. I'm happily 3 years without alcohol but feeling so alone. Pretty isolating in my small mountain town where partying hard is the norm (I think it really is anywhere though). No local sober meetups and have yet to find any gathering that doesn't center around it. Feeling weird about going to AA as I'm not struggling with alcohol just wanting a community of people.

If you desire to not drink you’re welcome in any AA meeting. You do not need to be homeless to try AA. I’m very successful and continue with AA. Great friendships. Other options available but that is what I can say from my experience

AA is a place to share experience strength and hope. It's not just about stoping drinking. It's about living life one life's terms. Happy joyous and free

Absolutely, I agree 100%!

Thank you! Great to hear. Didn't know if once people felt comfortable in their sobriety they would move on from the program. But sounds very welcome to all.

The great part is that when we are no longer struggling, we can help others in their struggle. That’s how the program works. I think you’ll love it.

Hi Kelly! There are lots of programs besides AA if you’re not comfortable with AA (though I echo above in that they will be welcoming). A few suggestions: The Luckiest Club, Tempest, The Sober Faction, Refuge Recovery, Recovery Dharma, SMART Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, most of these programs offer online meetings and support, so you can attend from anywhere.
