All the problems I’ve been avoiding are resurfacing. Is that a normal thing?

Yup. You have to face them, deal with them and let them go. That’s what the 4/5 step is for. 6/7 is to let it go. It takes time and work and patience with yourself.

I’ve never been good at letting go

That’s why I said have patience. It’s hard but can be done. I was never good at it either, I always said I would burn bridges because I could swim… terrible for my soul…but I relented to the process of getting sober and I have a weight lifted from my soul. It truly does work if you work it.

Yes .one day at a time. Get a sponsor they will help you on the steps. They. Will go a way with time.

Going through the same thing. Sending good vibes your way.

Hello: Maybe you could be a little more specific? Are you avoiding responsibilities or procrastinating? Thanks.

The old Steve had so many hidden agendas. I was such a prolific liar. I lied even when telling .the truth would of been a perfect response. The biggest issue I faced upon walking the path of a upright sober man. Was people wouldn't let go of my past. It was a new life journey to reestablish my new self to others. Thanx

Yep. I’ve got 30 yrs worth of s***t I was avoiding. It can be overwhelming, but as mentioned above; one day at a time. I’m OK today and sober, tomorrow will come and I’ll deal with it then. It takes time but it gets better. Many of us used to avoid these problems now we have to learn how to deal.

Look at the promises. Changes happen; sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. Just wait for the miracle. #OneDayAtATime

As Tim mentioned above, patience. Its hard and we hate it. We want instant results. I wish I could get them too, but I can’t. Recovery isn’t quick

It’s a very real thing. But honestly, I’m grateful for it. I’m no longer running away. It’s been challenging processing and dealing with old problems, but now I’m making actual progress and moving forward.

To put it as it was put to me as a child, a leaking pipe doesn't fix itself. You may not see the leak for a while, but all the while it is filling your walls and rotting your studs.

Problems always come back if you dont put in the work.
