Almost officially 24hrs

It’s been almost 24hrs since my last drink. And I just know I’m craving one badly.

I’m so sick of being tired. And angry. And depressed. And anxious. Plus the weight I’ve gained doesn’t help.

Trying to be strong!

Stay strong. It gets easier. The weight will fall off.

24 hours at a time is all you can do. Stay present.

Keep your mind busy, Jessica..
Listen to music, go for a walk, hang out with supportive friends/family, or join a recovery group (online or in person) who can teach you the proper techniques to use when you get triggered or feel like having a drink.

Plus, we're all on the same team here and have your back😊

You are strong. Take it 1 day at a time.

Give yourself a break! Rest your body. Drink plenty of fluids. Take it one day at a time. Build your network. Attend a meeting. You got this as long as you WANT it. Congratulations on 24 hours! That’s a big deal

You’re in a good place. Keep reaching out. Maybe try meetings?

Hi Jessica, take a deep inhale and exhale it out of your mouth. You are alive, and you have the opportunity to make a change in your life for the better. Take that chance. It’s going to be difficult, but it is 100% worth it. If you need someone to check-in with let me know and I will DM you my number. When things get squirrely it is best to reach out and distract yourself, realign with sobriety like you did here.

You too Tommy!!!
You/we/all of us GOT THIS!!!:hugs::heart::pray:t2::upside_down_face:

Same girl! Sick of waking up and promising myself I won't drink and then drinking. Sick of being tired and anxious and depressed. I'm not craving rn though - I've tried cutting back so many times or taking breaks and it always feels hard and I always fail. This time I feel convicted. Motivated. Energized. Until around 4 pm when I start getting sad. But I know (at least for today I know) that drinking will only make me sadder tomorrow.

Hang tough Jessica! The first couple of days can be rough. Take it one day at a time, or one hour, minute or second. Whatever works. You can do it! :star_struck:

Hey Jessica!! I can completely identify. You don’t have to do this alone. Let us know how you are doing today. Here to help in any way you need. :pray::heart:
