Almost to day 52, doctor started me on Wellbutrin, for depression and to help me stop vaping, depression has been my worst symptom through my detox, anyone have experience with Wellbutrin?

Well I originally got on it 4 years ago to quit smoking, it works, but my doc had me stay on for the help with depression and anxiety. I feel meds quicker than they say, about a week for me. Hold on.

I took Wellbutrin 20 years ago to help quit smoking cigarettes. My experience is it made me very emotional. However, back then I wasn’t able to be emotional as I was taught men don’t cry. Turns out we cry! :joy:
I tried Lexapro and absolutely loved it for the first year of my sobriety. I’m no doctor but sometimes we need meds to help straighten us out early on our sobriety journey.
Remember to speak up it’s not working or having weird side effects. There’s a ton of anti-depressants out there. May take a few months to find the right one for you.

Fabulous medication... it has a very mild stimulant effect AND typically does not cause the weight gain most anti-depressant drugs do. It also helped me quit smoking and caused vivid dreams(the good kind for me). It gets less difficult keep up the great work! O2-28-2OO2

Most antidepressants take 4-6wks to take effect. If you’re more sensitive to medications you could notice a difference in 2 wks or so. Give it a shot!

Also, side effects usually go away after you have been on something for a little while so always good to give a med at least a couple of months to see how it will really impact you

I take it every day. It has been very helpful. I started it for depression and have just stayed on it. 2 years almost. Funny I was just talking about this on my drive home.

I took it for a long time. Quit taking it about a year ago or so. There was no side effects or anything negative that I experienced from it.

I just started taking them myself 1 a day 150mg SR it’s only been 4th day taking them. On 2nd day I started to get what I call brain zaps , do you get those ?how long have you been taking them for ?

Yes I did but it seems to be subsiding I’ve been taking them for 5 days today, the stomach aches have been the worst to me but I learned that eating before taking them helps, even if it’s just toast, I feel like it’s starting to work, I did not sleep well the first 3 days and last night I slept 7 hours! I hope you feel better with the brain zaps

I only had that one side effect the zaps I call it don’t know how else to explain it , just an odd sensation in my head. I can’t say anything about sleeping because I can’t sleep , since I kicked it I can’t sleep & weak appetite. I started to get depressed after I stopped which is why I’m on them. I tried Zoloft one time but they made me have no feeling at all didn’t care about anything. Thank you , glad you finally slept well last nite
