Alone. Not lonely

Hey guys! I’m new here & I’m coming up on 3 years of sobriety, but I don’t feel like I have a social life. I recently was released from prison and am living in a new town and everything’s just different now. I need to make some new connections. So, hey

Hello! I’m new here too & just wanted to say Hi!
Hope your night is going well.
I know you’re in a new town & that can be fun but it can also be hard not knowing anyone either.
Well you’re not alone, you’ve got friend’s here!!:purple_heart:

Welcome CC! I would highly recommend getting into as many local meetings as possible, getting a sponsor, a home group, a service position in that home group, and working the 12 steps (if you haven't done all of that already. Welcome, and I hope you find this app to be as rewarding as I do!

Thanks !

Start by making connections with your local AA or NA groups. Also, you can find sober connections on this site.

It is hard to start your life over and rebuilding a new one. I just celebrated 4 years and I'm so grateful for all the support that's gotten me here today. I volunteer and work as a Peer and run some groups. I attend alot of recovery meetings along with AA and a therapist. I love to advocate all the resources available to everyone and educate people on the stigma still needs to be addressed by all. My social life now is my recovery life and learning how to really live in a different way. I haven't been in a relationship since I've been in sobriety and long before. I have a lot of legal, financial and serious health issues. Anxiety and depression that we all have. There are a lot of great people involved with recovery. The thing that helped me the most was listening. Sorry for rambling. we all find people we really connect with and it all starts with us. Congratulations on your sober time and I wish you the best CC.

Welcome, reach out if you ever need to talk or someone to kind an ear. I know how it feels to have that feeling of thinking your circle is closing up. But venture out, the world is amazing.:star_struck:
