Day 31 of sobriety!! My relationship with my mom has always been up and down. She has never been able to communicate effectively or really if at all. It drives my Dad crazy. Anyhow, I've tried twice to talk to her recently at my parents home. Each time she has disappeared outside while I have been there. So today, I told my Dad that it is on her terms now and to know I tried my best. And the falling out with us was a 50/50. So I feel she has her own issues she needs to figure out because what I said to her was only the truth and she doesn't want to admit her wrongs and it's easier for her to not have anything to do with me. Sad. People aren't disposable.
Don't worry about her "admitting her wrongs". Clean your side of the street. She will or she won't. You can't control your own life right now, you're definitely not gonna be able to control the outcome with someone else.
31 days sober is awesome!!!!
Taylor said it best. Don't focus on blame just focus on your part. That is the point of amends.
It is ok to be selfish when it comes to your recovery. 31 days is fantastic, and you're going to feel better, more confident and stronger every day. You have enough to focus on with sobriety and it's fair to tell your mom that and set boundaries. Keep your head up!!
Iām so glad you see that people are not disposable. You learn that lesson on your own and it looks beautiful on you!

Hello Elizabeth: When we make amends in recovery, we must do it without any expectations. Are you working with a sponsor by chance?
