Amends - To Do or Not To Do

We don’t make amends with the expectation of someone else taking accountability or apologizing. It’s about cleaning your side of the street and knowing you did what you could to mend whatever parts you played in the downfall of a relationship. When I made amends to my mom, who I ended up later going no contact with, I didn’t even mention anything that hurt me. Amends are, at their foundation, about other people and the result is that in time we heal our own resentments. Stick to what you did, list it clearly, sincerely apology, they accept or they don’t, you don’t drink/use despite the outcome. If you have a sponsor, talk more in depth with them about this. If you don’t have a sponsor, I wouldn’t be making amends at all.

GOOD answer!

9th Step Amends.
Work 1-8 with a sponsor and then do 9 with a sponsor.
Too early and without guidance from the book and a sponsor doesn't seem to go well in my experience
