An AA friend is coming over to do some step work together in a half hour. This is what keeps me sane. Get out there and get involved. I live in a tiny town <3k and I can find people here. You can where you are too.

I was at an open meeting yesterday. A student looking to become a certified counselor or something was in attendance. Not an addict/alcoholic. At the end he wanted to talk (after we had all shared). He had experience working with troubled youth. Never been to an AA meeting. He said he was so inspired by our stories, the articulate way we told them, our graceful manner of living, our sense of fellowship, and our spirituality. He was “blown away”.
We are the lucky ones!!

Thanks Sandy, he just left and I’ll see him again at our meeting tonight. We had a great conversation, it was very productive.

That is great bud. I am working on step 4 now with my AWOL group. It’s real eye opening.

We ended today going into 4. So next time is the hard one, thankfully he and I are on the same page about many things.
I used to avoid step 4 like the plague lol. I think I built it up in my head as being way harder than it was. My sponsor has been so huge in this. And other men. Not that it is easy and it takes a ton of guts to do. What I have don’t that helps Is every time I write on it when I’m done for that session I call my sponsor or friend from AA right after so I’m not sitting with anything. Especially the more recent partner inventory things and recent resentments.
