An addict was complaining about how hard things are that things just don’t feel right..
It’s just not fair!!
So he was asked.. do you have food in your belly, do you have clothing to wear, do you have a roof over your head and are you free from incarceration?
The answer to that question was yes

In the times we feel things are not going so well pause for a moment, realize we have the simple ability to feel.

There is two things we get back as we awake in recovery.. one of them is great  the other one is not so great.

  1. we get our feelings back
  2. we get our feelings back

I’ve heard it said in the rooms that we have a built in forgetter. This sounds like a classic case of forgetting what it was like while drinking/drugging. This is why it’s so important to work a daily program and not to get complacent.

Truth!! My first sponsor used to tell me, "So you wanna drink? Let's take take a step back into memory lane!!! Remember how awesome that was???"
Yeah, that did it for me every time!! :upside_down_face:

Sounds like your sponsor is a lot like mine
Very blunt straight forward and real..
He would always say stuff like, “tell ya what man.. let me know how that all works out for ya.”
“Heck.. you might be the first one that proves self will works for people like us.”

At first I thought he was being a harsh, then I stuck around for a bit and found out different :man_shrugging::laughing:
