Any advice how to keep going strong? At 7 days right now and it seems like it’s the only thing on my mind.
Go to meetings. And just focus on today. It’s scary to put things in the perspective of forever. But I’m sure you can make it to Thursday right? I mean what’s a few more hours. And when you wake up tomorrow just worry about the day ahead. If you’re anything like me, a week ago you were miserable. Today you’re not.
Do what you did yesterday today. Whatever worked today, do tomorrow. 1 day. That's all you need. Then set long term goals. "I can't wait for 60 days. I'm gonna spoil myself with..." kind of stuff.
Hey man: We all had 7 days at one point. What did I do to get the 4 years plus that I have? I went to meetings on Zoom. I got a sponsor. Together we worked the 12 Steps. I participated in those meetings. I shared honestly about what I'm was feeling or going thru. I used the phone to call other people in recovery. I wouldn't dare go back to the old lifestyle for anything. Anything. You want to know what comes after 4 years? Four years and one day. Don't use no matter what.
Congratulations
Way to go Chris…stay true….just made 90 days
One day at a time. One hour at a time. Whatever it takes. We have all been there and we understand. Just remember drinking will not get rid of your problems, you will have the same problems and be drunk.. Which could just add more. Stay busy
Keep up the mind set that you can do this. Every second at a time. You deserve to be happy and free from suffering
7 days, dude be PROUD of that and wear that pride like armor that only gets stronger as you wear it. I love the advice of others in focusing on today and do today what worked yesterday and do tomorrow what worked today. A focus on what works and an added focus on pride in self accomplishment is something you deserve. I’m 30 days in and at least for me, those first 7 were the hardest for me. Being proud I made it that far kept me going because I wanted to be more proud to make it forward further and longer
Meetings help me! Keep up the good work and take it one day at a time. One minute or one second at a time. It will get easier.
Surround yourself with sober positive media. Podcasts, books, shows, etc. I also found getting myself on a more disciplined schedule helped. Wake up/ go to bed at the same time every day. Gym same time. Maybe pick up a hobby to throw yourself into as a distraction. Climbing, yoga, volunteering. This will pass you've got this!
Congratulations
Meetings more meetings.then 90 meetings in 90 days.they help use a lot .and meet lots of people.
