I was just there in December! I stayed at an estate in Kona Bay, but if you're posted up @ Royal Kona or any of the many hotels- make sure you hit up the strip! Highly recommend Huggo's, Huggo's on the rocks, Foster's and if you're gon get sushi try Kenichi! 
Check out Wailei Horseback riding- a dream! The views of endless fields and waterfalls is amazing bordered by lush, tall evergreens up top and tropical guava trees below! Plus, they take you down to a secret pond where you can swim by the waterfall! Gosh, it was so beautiful there! Get in some catamaran snorkel time, go parasailing and jump off at the most southern point in the US-Kalae Only 9 months in sober and did just fine for my first vacation 
also, before you leave, help out those who you see along the strip- they are so friendly and most with dogs. Before I left for home, I gave all my goods to one particular man with whom i saw daily. Anywho, you'll have a wonderful time! There is so much to do there!
