Any other runners out there?

After years of running half and full marathons I took a break from running last year. I recently signed up for a local 5K to get back into running. I’ve realized how mentally, physically and emotionally beneficial it was for me in the past when I was dealing with hardships in my life, and now with almost a year of sobriety, this upcoming 5K will be the catalyst to restart a healthy habit I love! Any other runners out there? How has running helped you?

Absolutely! :raised_hands:

Runner here! Love to run and hit the races! Running has helped me regulate the highs and lows. It also helped regulate the sobriety process

running and recovery have more in common than people think, both are just one foot in front of the other until it becomes who you are :raised_hands:

Runner here as well! I run with a group called Strides in Recovery. They’re a nonprofit organization out of Los Angeles that bring running programs to local residential treatment centers and train the clients to run their 1st 5K. That’s where I got into running and since have participated in 4 different 5K races around the LA area. We’re going to a race in Sacramento in May!

I really miss wogging! My term for walk/jog. I enjoyed it so much but now have chronic illness and can't exercise. Keep it up and do it since you're able!
