Any tips on finding a higher power when you are

Any tips on finding or coming to terms with a higher power when you are agnostic? I'm almost ready to make Elon Musk mine (j/k).
This is the biggest struggling I'm having so far.
Thanks in advance.

There are Agnostic AA meetings to check out, they will help you translate into something that works for you, they ARE legit AA meetings. They have a noon zoom meeting m-f and there are many in person meetings as well, not sure where you are located.

Just saw that you're in Florida. Pretty sure it's against the law to be agnostic in Florida....haha

I've got connections who have their cat or their motorcycle as their higher power. The higher power is anything with more control and authority over addiction than you. As one says G.O.D. was theirs but that was group of drunks(their AA group) because they had more wisdom together than alone.

There are many powers greater than yourself. The Group Of Drunks who can keep you sober. Good Orderly Direction can keep you on the path.
There are many, the cop who can arrest you, the judge who can send you away, the boss who can fire you etc.
Realizing that you are not the center of the universe is the first step in finding a higher power. If you trust the process, you will find it.

For some the group is their higher power. It can be as easy as that

Can be a door knob. Anything greater than you that can have your back in times of need. Acting as if has a way of rubbing off after awhile. Someone or something you trust fully other than yourself. Although Musk is a scary human. Spends more time on twitter than his kids or family. Hi ho

I struggled with this one for months when I started AA. I kept searching for something to smack me in the face. But in the end my higher power “just is” when I was working 2/3 my sponsor told me that a higher power is something that is bigger than my addiction. Doesn’t matter what that is just needs to be something bigger that we can turn to and say “ok, I don’t understand, I need help, give me some sort of direction” the reason it is stated “as you understand him” is because there is no right or wrong. Sometimes it just is.

Think of your higher power as the universe. All you need to believe is there's something out there bigger than you, and to align with this power of the universe just keep doing the next right thing.

Look around on an given day and note the birds bugs and trees. Imagine yourself just one cog in the works.

A share from Lal Ded; Kashmir.

“When my mind was cleansed of impurities, like a mirror of its dust and dirt, I recognized the Self in me: When I saw Him dwelling in me, I realized that He was the Everything and I was nothing.

I saw and found I am in everything I saw God effulgent in everything. After hearing and pausing see Siva The House is His alone; Who am I, Lalla”

Mine is called "the spirit of the universe "

I like what Meg said. I call my Higher Power "God," but purely for convenience. I find that the more I try to carve God into some sort of image with certain features or personality traits, the more estranged I feel. Abstract benevolence and intelligence is what works for me; my Higher Power is essentially that which is Good.

Felix, have you ever call the liquor store to see if they had liquor? I asked myself this question and I quickly realized that I had faith this whole time! I would drive to the store on blind faith that they would have what I wanted. So why not have that same faith that something greater then me can restore my sanity? I was right where you are now in early sobriety and this guy would come to the treatment center every Sunday at 7pm to read the big book to us. I told him I don’t know about God. He said call it something else then. Call it GUS, Great Universal Spirit! That hit me hard! I was like perfect! I’ll take it! So I called my Higher Power GUS! I was so excited that when I got out of treatment and went to AA I shouted it at just about every meeting! As if I was the only one that came up with it… but I can say it worked for me to get me through the pandemic. Then as my spiritual journey grew stronger but slowly I began to have this thought of, why do I always have to change things! Just call it God! Is what I’d say to myself. I think I was like 14 months into sobriety stuck on step 4. But something was changing in me. I call it God today. I pray and meditate. I attend church have made some friends in the church community. I read the Bible sometimes and ask questions about Christianity. I like to see the similarities between the big book and what the pastor preaches. It’s wonderful to stop fighting anything and anyone in my life. I’ve completely surrendered my life over to the care of God, as I understand him.
Call it whatever you want. Do you believe that I believe in a power greater than myself?
