Sponsors are merely guides through the 12 steps. At least in my understanding. I’ve had multiple sponsors and learned very valuable things over the years. One is, to learn from other’s mistakes and successes.
Before and still sometimes I learned from the school of hard knocks
The 12 steps for me was a quantum leap every time I did them!
It’s not about how long I’m sober, it’s about the quality of my sobriety and mindset.
What happened?
Thanks everyone! You all said something to think about. However , I do like AA.
I go to Na it’s still 12 steps aa use sober, na use clean time. Na includes alcoholic & addictions. I here I completed the steps, virtues and working my traditions now
You just go to your. Rarest meeting and put your back end in a chair and speak up when there are introductions.. if you just say hey I’m back , with x # days… you will be warmly welcomed back home
I have nothing against AA, and I know it s helped so very many people. It just didn’t fit for me. Felt cultish if that makes sense, and zero disrespect to those that go and have success there. Maybe I had the wrong group? There were also those forced to be there, getting drunk in the parking lot. It just didn’t feel right to me personally. So I thought I’d try something like this, for this time around.
I’m not sure if that helps, but there are other avenues depending on what works best for you.
