Anybodys else here doesn’t think suicide is a bad thing? As long as you’re not coercing somebody else into doing it then it’s really not that bad of an idea🤷🏾♀️
You need to talk to someone. Immediately
Trust me, I’ve talked to multiple people about this. I don’t think my mindset is going to change. At this point I’m just waiting on my parents to pass so I can go too
Seven. Your behavior is adaptive. Suicide is an answer to intolerable pain. I do not necessarily think it is a good or bad thing but I would want to hear your thoughts specifically on what you think you’ll gain from doing it? No judgement here and I’m not trying to change your mind.
Peace
I suppose you aren’t wrong. I think in many ways ALL of us naturally crave the end of this weird dream. I know I do. What’s one thing you’d miss about existing?
It's a permanent solution to a temporary feeling
If you don’t mind me asking Seven.. is there a particular reason you chose to post this?
There might be others on here that read this and think that it would be a good idea (coerce)
What makes suicide a good thing wether it’s done alone or with another. Sounds to me like you feel that it’s a not so healthy thing.. especially if others need to be exempt.
Now that I really think about it.. sounds so very permanent, no longer would ya be able to post questions and receive answers to those questions.
By the way that is a valid question and it awesome to know that you trust this group enough to share/ask this question
Early recovery is tough seven. For what it's worth I'd like to commend you with asking some tough and blunt questions right out of the gate. I doubt that there are many of us here who haven't thought about suicide or at least manifested it through our actions and addictions. This is the hardest part. I relied on quite a number of different resources to help me stabilize my mental health while I was detoxing including some things I thought I'd never try (namely anti depressants) all "mom would be sad" talk aside don't you think you owe it to yourself to try some things you might have overlooked before? You might surprise yourself. I won't say it's easy, but I will posit it may be easier than you might have thought. Thanks for reaching out and feel free to bounce any ideas my way.
Seven I am sorry you are feeling so bad. My daughter was suicidal - for other reasons- and thank goodness she didn’t. There are people who would be devastated. There are always other options that don’t hurt others
Steven if it’s your parents you you are waiting for so not to hurt them. Witch it will and let’s not forget about the other that care about you.
May I suggest a detox program that will provide medical help and you may very well see the positive thing in life to live for. I say this as a son of a victim and I miss him everyday.
I wish you the best of luck. Peace can be found with life.
Have to disagree. Those feelings have never left my brain. Some things get so rooted in they are part of you and become something you have to live with and overcome.
That's a hard question to answer for anyone but myself. I don't have the same hangups about suicide others do, but I also no longer feel that suicide is a good option.
You may be on to something for excessive drinking is suicide on the installment plan. You made another post here about drinking excessively. Alcohol is a depressant & maybe if you stopped drinking your views may change. You also posted about possibly seeing a doctor for liver damage. Why would a person so intent on killing himself worry about liver damage?
There's a flicker of light inside of you, that's why you're reaching out. Help is available and things do get better. Not easier but better. Believe me, you're not the only one who's been where you're at.
There are a few thoughts on suicide to consider. 1 it doesn't end suffering it passes it on to others. 2 from a religious view (I am not sure of your affiliations in that aspect). No religion has a favorable view of self termination. You desperately need to get counseling. It is basic human desire to live, and desiring to self harm is not a healthy state to be in.
Maybe. But..I was suicidal and depressed and full of anxiety. I thought I drank because I had mental problems, but I had mental problems because I drank. Here’s what I’ve seen with nearly every active alcoholic including me; they think their problems are unique and special. That is why it is so important for us to get around other alcoholics, so that we can realize that our problems are not that special. Then they become easier to deal with.
It’s so strange you feel this cuz I think the EXACT same thing. I feel like life is not real sometimes. We know suicide is not the answer but know you are not alone in thinking this way. And now I know I’m not alone either. I think about ways to die pretty frequently. Support systems are vital when you think this way. I hope you don’t do it. Everyone dies in the end. That is gaurenteed so you already know that’s coming. But if you die early you may be missing out on some amazing things that can happen
As a human being who happens to be affected by depression & alcoholism, I've experienced many losses to suicide. Even if I didn't know them well, it hurt. I don't attach judgement or "bad" to suicide. Just know it will hurt people. When we know drugs & alcohol aren't the solution, possibly consider other things to try first. Suicide is always an option, and like someone else said death is inevitable. Any other potentially exciting options to try first? Wishing you peace & serenity.
Meetings will help.more meetings then meetings.we need to got out and meet people and make friends.
It's a selfish copout to life. Sorry just my opinion
