Anyone else feel like it's a bit tougher living in

Anyone else feel like it's a bit tougher living in a small town when it comes to rebuilding yourself to fit your new sober lifestyle? I might be wrong but I feel like in a bigger city it would be easier for people to accept you for who you are now and stop looking at you like you're still strung out and shady.

It’s the same no matter where I lived.
People looked at me like I was strung out and shady because I was strung out and shady.

Go to meetings
Get a sponsor
Work the steps
Help others

It’s going to be ok😁

She's been sober for more than 2 years. She's doing all of those things.

Hey Kayti! I live in a small town too. For me, it was tough to overcome people's impressions at first, but now that I haven't been in any trouble for 15 years, people really admire all that I've overcome and treat me well.

I'm in southern California with a huge variety of sober support available. I can see how your situation could be extremely challenging. I don't know if you go out of town much but last time I had a trip coming up and I attended and participated in a few hybrid online meetings in the place I was going to be. I was able to attend in person and meet people that I interacted with online. I keep in contact with a couple of people now. Getting a little creative in creating a personal support system could help. :green_heart:

Good deal😁
Then maybe take a look at page 62. Then pages 83 & 84. I revisit those when I’m not happy with life on life’s terms.
