Not to spook you. I'm 16 years sober and still have trouble calming the squirrels down. The more I live in 10 and 11 nightly. Taking to to pray, write just a little and meditation before bed. It seems to help. I may not fall asleep quickly but I've noticed I sleep better. Good luck to you

I do! But, I think from my heavy drinking it caused me to have a sleeping disorder which I take medication for.

Yup. ZMA, exercise, diet, and melatonin helped me through that part.

I did, but it passed. Early on I wasn’t used to going to bed without feeling something. Give its some time, melatonin helped somewhat but what got me was I would go to sleep and then wake up around 12 or 1 and then toss and turn the rest of the night and my mind would be racing. I had to do the step work suggested in AA and things got better over time. Now I crash through the night usually.

I practice a formish of meditation. I imagine myself doing something I enjoy. I will play a round of disc golf in my imagination or take a fishing trip. When I started doing this I had to redirect my thoughts a lot but it helped me to fall asleep with limited issues and stupid thinking.

Yeah was tough for a month or two then started to get better. My sleep has never been great though even before I got into the booze.

Yes, same. Many yrs of too much craziness definitely caused long term sleep disorder. Try exercise, not eating past nine, and medication if necessary. Nothing like staring at the walls at 4am🤣

I second meditation also. All about retraining the brain.

I did

It took about a week to get that nice sleep sober people love to talk about.
