Anyone ever buck the advice about making big life changes

Anyone ever buck the advice about making big life changes in early recovery and has first hand stories about how it went (good or bad)? Preferably not prescriptive anecdotes. Mine is a potential new job in a new location more proximal to the sober outdoor activities I like.

I got a new job 5 months into sobriety and a new gf a few months after that. There were challenges but I’m sober and used my program and consulted my sponsor as needed. I had a foundation. The timing of these things were beyond my control. I could have said no but I’m glad I didn’t on both accounts.

Went to college for the first time at the age of 33 when I was 3 months sober, best thing I ever did! Graduated 4 years later Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Finance.

I applied to grad schools a couple months into sobriety and I started grad school 11 months into sobriety, I just graduated and will be celebrating 4 years of sobriety in a couple months. I agree with Craig, if you have a strong foundation then these things are manageable. You just have to know what to make a priority and when to ask for help.

Latest streak is a month and a day. Had like 55 days strung together before a one night lapse before that

Yep, didn’t end well. However, who am I to deny you of your own experience?
