Anyone experience sugar cravings once becoming sober?
Yes sugar craving doesn’t stop was eating chocolate everyday
Umm.. Yes! And at 4 years sober (clean) I still crave sugar. It’s totally normal. Alcohol turns to sugar when you’re drinking and when you’re not your body wants a substitute. Eat something sweet!
I had this badd for the first two months, but it has seemed to subside
When getting sober this is common. Why do you think they have candy at in person meetings? Lol. Eases ya out of drinking a lot of times. Better candy than a drink or drug. The body craves something. Sugar is a relief valve. After you’re sober for awhile those cravings get better. You’re normal.
Nope (sliding my hand into a bag of fun size Snickers).
MmmmMambas!!!
Sugar and any carb boost the feel good, pleasure part of the brain. That's what you're looking for. It is normal. I put on 20 lbs on top of my not skinny self lol. It beats booze by a mile
Thanks for normalizing this. I've been eating Trix cereal like never before!

Congrats on your 4 years of sobriety! I cannot resist the sugar rush!
I've been trying to stick to eating sugar on only weekends as well. I've never been a sweet eater until I stopped drinking.
I agree! It totally beats drinking.
YES! Every night before going to bed I’m eating something sweet.
Same here!
Yes. It’s the absence of the drug or alcohol. I’m not sure but I think alcohol becomes sugar once it hit the liver could be wrong
