Yes I’ve had to end relationships with a close friend of mine, so I understand what you’re going through. However, I’ve also seen an influx of people brought into my life that have made my life so much better. I hope you find friends that will bring joy into your life

Yes, but you learn who your true friends are. They’re often the ones who you least expect and turn out to be blessings in your life.

I have BETTER friends now. Quality not quantity! Seventeen years sober.

The most important thing in your life is you staying sober. If they can't get on board with that then they aren't real friends. Go to more meetings and try to meet more people. Also conventions and other events.

The friendships definitely change yet you’ll end up where you actually want to be, not where it was most convenient for the addiction.

The longer I've stayed sober the more I've realized there are less sober friends that I originally got sober with or around. But you also identify those that are still sober and it forces me to make new friends with those that may also have gone through what I have

I totally get this. Ive had to leave plenty of people behind. It's more that we now have different goals in life than we aren't friends anymore.
