Anyone get sober and just want to disappear? Like no

I realized a lot of those feelings is why I drank /used…. For me it’s decreased a little but I’m just trying to get tools to deal w it . Exercise , meetings and getting comfortable in my skin has been a process . I’ve also sought outside help . I wish you peace :white_heart:

Considered it several times today.

I don’t want to necessarily disappear. But I don’t want to hangout or see them as often. I’m focusing on me. Making sure I’m ok. And also I don’t want to be in a position that’ll make me want to drink. So I’ve become more introverted.

Yes 100% I cut out people I used with and cut out my family for a long time. Reason being I told my father I was quitting drinking and his words where you will be drinking again in a month.

Every day. Even sober

Sounds like me

Yes, I'm right here with you. Most of my "people" that I couldn't live without before, could live perfectly fine with me when I got sober. No celebration, reconciliation...just disgust like "how dare you get better?" Oh well...I think I'll go do something random, fun and a bit crazy...dance without music playing, love along the way and make myself laugh :joy:. It gets better, I promise

Creepy ..Mccreep

Im sorry.i didnt mean to offend anyone simple joke i realize it was out of line i wasnt really even gonna go anyways i am sorry no harm intended please forgive me

Yep. So I went ahead and did that. But I did it sober.

I can relate big time to those feelings.

Disappear is a big word, i would say something more like a vacation. Sometimes it takes time for someone to process things and events that happened in the past. Weather it be a day a month, Healing is all about feeling safe to move on. Isolation can help to a certain extent, just don’t force yourself into it.
