Ill go with you

Point is that I wanted to know if it was normal. Like where do I sign up for the non snitch version of the witness protection program

I don't bail but I have been known to cut off everyone and everything for extended periods of time while I sort my life out. Nothing more annoying and disruptive to me than a volley of questions and unsolicited advice while I'm trying to gain strength and confidence in myself.

Makes sense. I'd just prefer to disappear forever

For me, that feeling usually goes away after a few months... Then comes back after a few more months... Turns out I just don't like most people that much drunk or sober.

Understandable. Not that I hate people. I just don't want to be around. Life is easier when I am not in it. Good night

Basically did .I moved and got sober.

Same. Ready to drop everything from my old life. Including parents, kids, friend, and disappear. Isolation is better for me I feel.

Yes it's pretty normal to feel that way. But no matter where you go there you are. But a healthy fresh start isn't bad

Maybe that's my problem. Don't feel I need to be around myself

Id still go with you

Id love to go with you ..

Location and isolation is a bad combo for most addicts. We need to face the things in our life. For me sobriety was all about learning to navigate the life I had and not need to do it drunk. I had the “run aways” for about 4 months. Now I wouldn’t dream of taking off. Sometimes people need to change location. As long as you are not running from problems that need to be felt and dealt with. You will get there. We got your back.

Dude. STFU. You sound like a desperate creeper.

Yeah, I lost all my friends. I’ve worked on myself and strive really hard to be my best company. I’d like to have friends, but at this point I really don’t want to waste my time investing in anything that doesn’t absolutely edify me or add to my purpose.

They say isolation is bad when you're in recovery, but it's been working for me so far. I even deactivated my dating apps. I go to a couple of group therapy sessions a week. I also attend one very large AA meeting a week, even though I am not, nor do I plan to do the 12 steps. Hearing the guest speakers' stories makes me feel less alone in sobriety.

I get it Bean. I cut just about everyone out. I had to. Even my father only knows half of what’s going on in my life. I’ve also felt I’m the cause of this and that and people are better off not knowing me.

The shame is something that hasn't gone away for me yet. Life is much better and I'm grateful but I still carry the shame and I don't see it getting better anytime soon
