Anyone have any advice on dealing with liver issues???

We are not doctors. My recommendation is don’t drink, go to meetings, and consult your doctor.

I had a kidney issue that could have gone badly but didn’t because I got it checked out.

Just about shut my liver down for reals. It’s all scarred up now. If I drink again I’m fu(ked. But I haven’t drank in over two years and am really freaking healthy considering. My labs are all normal. But I will always be at risk of complications and I have to have yearly test done. If you think that you can continue drinking and just change something else to “heal” your liver, you are lying to yourself. I told myself all kinds of bull$hit like that. It’s not true. You will destroy your organs with booze. Plain and simple.

A lot of people don’t even realize they have liver problems, so it’s a good first step just to know. My liver enzymes were elevated by a new medication and after a bunch of tests it was determined the new med spiked it so it was caught but I already had stage 3 damage from alcohol. The only thing you can do is stop. It takes a lot of drinking to mess it up and a long time to heal, that is, if it’s no too late. There is no miracle cure. Listen to ur doctor.
I gave my liver a name, EDNA, every day no alcohol. It makes me feel more connected to her

I feel you. I found out I had a blood clot at my liver and that with the drinking led me to a complete body shutdown. I had an eight percent chance of leaving the hospital. If I ever touch it again I’ll be in the ground.

Yup that was me, too. They didn’t expect me to leave the hospital.

What’s the issue ? What I can recommend and it’s a tuff to do it works if you stick too It is try going on veggie diet and drink plenty of coconut water. Basically all issues with the liver are based on toxins in our body. When it come to where it’s becoming an issue this goes for every organ. Veggie diet is the best and only suction. No meat. What meat dose take fats into the blood stream and that fat gets filtered on your liver. You will feel better with in a few days and excise. It works not easy. And no you can’t cheat. If you want meat you need to plant based meat. Other wise it will not work

I can give it a try. The meat part will be hard but I’m willing to try.

But meat doesn’t do what alcohol does. lol Get and stay off the booze first. If it’s a choice between a shot and a slice of bacon, take the bacon.

I’m one month and 11 days sober!! Getting easier each day.

Then your liver is going to be fine.:slightly_smiling_face: Just keep doing what you’re doing.

I have liver issues too. I’ve been off alcohol for 28 days and my bilirubin is almost normal, but my enzymes are off still. I’ll be interested to hear suggestions you get. I have additional issues from cancer surgery and treatments and I’ve heard everything from drinking celery juice to taking milk thistle. My doctor didn’t endorse either of those and said it would just be time and never drinking again. Definitely talk to your doctor and get regular testing.

I spent 52 days in the hospital due to liver issues. Mostly in ICU. I can answer many questions you may have. I still have to go to one of the top national hospitals every two weeks. A lot of this can be very personal so message me direct if you want.

First thing I would do is schedule an appointment to have blood work done :+1: and choke down some pure 100% cranberry juice not ocean spray.

Also be careful with over the counter drugs sick as Tylenol PM or NyQuil.
